My name is Ed Johnson and I am a true native of Ocean City, having
been born at Scotch Hall, the corner of 5th and Wesley Avenue, and
lived within a 1/2 mile of that spot, except for college and WWII,
my entire life.
I was commissioned as an Ensign USNR at the Navy Midshipman School
of Notre Dame University in 1945. I received my BA from the
University of North Carolina class of 1948, my major in mathematics
and my Masters in Administration from Glassboro University.
I owned and operated Johnson's Ice Cream and Candy (426 Boardwalk,
established 1930-1969), I taught school for 33 years (the last 25
at Mainland), and owned and operated a family Ambulance Service for
15 years (sold in 1994). I served on the Board of Directors of both
the NJ and National Ambulance Associations and now I am undertaking
a new challenge, I just completed the State required course for
Real Estate Sales. |
